Daniel Sturridge continues to be my talisman. There is a certain glamorous majesty to the super sub, who comes off the bench to sprinkle their own special kind of gold dust on a game.
I was in the pub at the time, and drunkenly, vaingloriously boasted that he would score the next goal if I bet on it, and sure enough, he did.
Unfortunately, he did not put in an appearance on what turned out to be Bilic’s fateful last game at the helm of West Ham. Speaking of which, the last I checked, the odds of Moyes taking over were 1/33 with Sky Bet. I’m dissapointed he shan’t be playing for England, thus won’t be around for the World Cup friendlies, however I am sure this is a massive relief to every Liverpool fan. Sturridge lives to get injured another day.
